2006 Reassessment
The Assessment and Taxation Department is required by law to conduct a General Assessment of all property in Winnipeg every four years.
Our 2006 reassessment Residential Open House Program is complete. Forty-six Open House days were held at 15 locations around Winnipeg between last October and early February. A total of 4,779 property owners visited the Open Houses.
The 2006 Assessment Roll was issued May 31, 2005 with Property Assessment Notices being mailed to the owners of the 200,000 properties in the City of Winnipeg.

Market Value Changes
Winnipeg's real estate market has changed significantly in four years. The 2002 General Assessment was based on 1999 market values while 2006 is based on 2003 market values.
- On average, the value of residential properties (four dwelling units & under) increased 23.2% city-wide in the period from 1999 to 2003.
- The market value of multi-family housing (5 dwelling units and up) has risen by 12.65%.
- The market value of condominiums and cooperative housing has risen 20.4%.
- The value of commercial properties has risen 10.26%.
