Welcome to the Assessment and Taxation Department
The Assessment and Taxation Department is responsible for the valuation and classification of all real property, personal property and business occupancies within the City of Winnipeg for the purpose of distributing taxes fairly to the City's citizens.

Our mission is to provide fair, open, understandable and defensible property valuations and classifications for the equitable distribution of taxation.


April 11, 2008 - New! Income and Expense questionnaires were mailed to the owners of 6,243 office, retail and industrial properties and 2,934 multi-family properties. The owners are required to submit the information requested by May 2, 2008. Click here to download the request package

Online Data Collection

The Assessment and Taxation Department has developed an integrated web-based system which will provide you, the business property owner(s), with the ability to submit your annual Income & Expense information online through any computer with Internet Access. If working online is not your choice, traditional paper forms of filing are also available and were mailed out April 11, 2008.

To enter your information online:

Log onto our web site at www.winnipegassessment.com. Simply click on the Secure Login link in “My Properties” and then create an account, filling in your private user ID# and roll number, found on your letter.

If you have already used our Secure Login link and have an existing User ID# and password, you can use your existing User ID# and password to enter the new Online Data Collection system. Creating a new account will not be necessary.
