General Assessment - Business Assessment
On November 2, 2012, the 2013 Business Assessment Notices will be mailed to businesses in the City of Winnipeg. This notice will only be mailed to businesses that had an annual rental value change (ARV) in 2012, which will affect their 2013 ARV. This would include but not limited to businesses that have moved locations, new business starts, increase or decrease space etc.
All businesses regardless if they have received a 2013 Business Assessment Notices can appeal their 2013 ARV. The deadline to file an appeal with the Board of Revision is November 22, 2012.
The 2013 Annual Rental Value reflects the average net market rents among similar business premises. It includes the comfortable costs to occupy the space which consists of heat, hydro, water and air conditioning where applicable. The 2013 Annual Rental Value is based on a reference date of April 1, 2010, and is indicative of what the rental market and costs were at that time.
